To obtain the recipes for new tools you will need to unlock Tiers in your Obelisk. Each biomes’ four Tiers will give you two new tool recipes. Some Tiers in your Obelisk may ask for the tools crafted from the previous Tiers. Tools from previous Tiers may allow you to mine or chop new resources in the next biome. All Tools can be repaired at the Anvil or Golden Anvil.
The only tool type that does not need to be unlocked is the Wood Axe and Wood Pickaxe. Tools cannot be purchased from Traders and are only crafted on-player. Wood Axe and Wood Pickaxe will also be used as weapons in early game.
