Tamed
The animals found in Divided Land that can be tamed are Farm Animals and Horses. Any Farm Animals found within Savage settlements are not tameable and will not display gender information.
Top Tip- Carnivorous Plants will kill any tamed creature within its range!
Taming
To tame an animal the Taming Skill must be learnt by reading Taming I (able to tame Farm Animals) and then Taming II (able to tame Horses) by either looting or buying them from a Trader. Taming III has no use currently.
Taming is pure RNG and can be frustrating at times and the basics are as follows with a higher Taming Skill giving a greater chance of success. Chickens are slightly different in Taming.
- Find the desired animal.
- Equip a food that animals can eat.
- Approach the animal and mouse over until “Feed” prompt appears.
- Feed as required and then unequip the food.
- Mouse over the animal until the “Tame” prompt appears and then press and hold until ring fills completely and the success notification is seen.
- If unsuccessful the animal will run off and will need time to calm down before approaching again and another Taming attempt can be made.
- To get the animal home use “J” to whistle and get the animals being pointed at to follow you. Press “N” to cancel (Stop the follow) There is a visual range limit at which animals will stop following.

Chickens are Tamed differently to the other animals and Horses. You need to have seeds instead of food and follow these steps.
- Approach the Chicken and quickly throw out the seeds to the ground (10 should be enough).
- The Chicken will run off but slowly return to eat the seeds (Player remains in place).
- Whilst it is eating (ensure it has eaten by seeing how many seeds are left) perform the usual Taming procedure.
- If unsuccessful the chicken will run off but return again to feed, repeat until successfully tamed.
horses
There are 3 types of Horse with 5 different world models.

Found all over both Islands and when killed give Raw Meat, Bone, Hide and Horse Parts on harvest.

Butcher Loot- Raw Meat, Bone, Hide and Fat.

Taming II needs to be learnt to tame Horses and then a Saddle (either looted or crafted) is required to ride them. A Horse Bag provides additional storage.

- Rename the Horse by clicking here.
- Either Iron or Steel Horse Armour.
- Saddle goes here.
- The Horse bag gives 8 additional storage slots with no weight limit!
- Horse Stats (Roughly 10% per level increase).
- Players Inventory.
Armour

Horse Armour requires schematics to be Looted or bought at the Trader.
Horses are ridden by approaching the Horse and Pressing “E” and uses the normal movement controls. To dismount the Horse needs to be stopped and the cursor pointing down from an overhead view and press “E“. Objects can not be interacted with whilst on horseback such as Chests or Workbenches.
Pressing “H” will access the Horses inventory and this can also be done whilst riding the Horse. The Horse will follow with the “J” command and stop with the “N” command.
Horses require food and water which can be fed directly to them or they will graze when left near a Food or Water Container with items in. Healing Kits can be used to restore Health and their movement Speed is set to (20 × Level).
Horses level over time (2, 6, 12, 20, 32, 48, 70, 100, 140, 200 HRS) and the new “BreedingSpeedMultiplier” server setting also affects leveling speed. Horse will die if not fed and watered and will drop their inventory upon death.
Top Tip- Tame several Horses to act as mules. Put them to follow and use them as extra storage when out resource gathering. (check to make sure they havent stopped or been blocked).
feeding
All Tamed animals require food and water which can be fed directly to them or they will graze when left near a Food or Water Container with the right food in. Chickens only eat Seeds (any type).

Food Container and Water Container along with Fencing is unlocked at level 19.

animal Food Types

Breeding
If one of each gender type (Male–
and Female –
)is penned together there is a chance of the animals breeding. Horses do not breed and Chickens need a separate pen. There is a Max limit of 10 of each type of animal allowed to be tamed with an option to edit in the Server config file.
BreedingSpeedMultiplier– On CO-OP servers, the default value is 300%, since tame progression only occurs while the Server is running.
